Narcissists suffer from a personality disorder called narcissistic personality disorder. Can a narcissist cry?
First things first, can a human cry? Can anyone pretend to cry? The answer is yes. Of course a narcissist can cry! Narcissists cry all the time! Don’t you know that they love being victims all the time? They WILL cry. Why does a narcissist choose to cry?
Why do narcissists cry?
- Narcissists cry when they need attention
- Narcissists cry when asking you to take them back
- Narcissists cry when they are in pain for dramatic effect
A narcissist can and will cry when it benefits them the most. If you are a female dealing with a male narcissist: men know that women tend to take pity on pitiful souls all around them. It tugs at their heart strings and makes them forgive the narcissist’s heinous crimes.
For example:
Yes, I know I cheated but at least I didn’t cheat on you with someone you know! *SOBS* I care about you! Why are you hurting me like this??? I do so much for you!
Do narcissists cry during movies?
Narcissists only care about themselves. So, why is the narcissist in your life crying at a Disney movie? Narcissists will only cry out in the open, in front of people who can see them crying. Maybe this is the first date and a narcissist is trying to reel you in. They want to show you their soft and wounded side.
Remember, first impressions are important for narcissists. In addition to love-bombing, there is a definite acting and manipulation going on. Narcissists won’t show you their true nature until you are trapped and addicted to them like heroine after their emotional manipulation and love-bombing. Anyone can fall victim to a narcissist.
If you have been a victim to a narcissist, you find yourself looking for one in every new person you meet. Even shedding crocodile tears can’t throw you off. In fact, it makes you more suspicious. Vulnerable people like women need to always be on the lookout for manipulative people. I know it sounds like a difficult life, but hey, better safe than suffering in the hands of manipulative and depraved monster of a narcissist. You need to know these 10 Mind Games a Narcissist Plays.

Do narcissists feel emotional pain?
This question needs to be answered in two parts:
- Do narcissists feel emotional pain like regular people?
- Do narcissists show emotional pain the way we do?
Narcissists do feel emotional pain. Why else do they cry and wail when you call them out? What do they victimize themselves? Sure, they feel emotional pain. But they probably don’t feel emotional pain like me and you. They feel it when you don’t give them the attention they think they deserve because they are superior to you.
Narcissists are the actors of real life. Everything they do near you is calculated and premeditated. If the display of emotional pain is blowing you away, it is essential to note that you are the audience to spectacular acting!
Will a narcissist cry? Yes, when they have to.
How does a narcissist feel when they see you cry?
Narcissists love to watch people squirm and fight to save face under the narcissist’s foot. They scramble your brain with word salad for their pleasure and entertainment. When a narcissist sees you cry, they are going to feel either of two ways:
- Pleased like a snide cat playing with a mouse
- Disgusted at you for calling them out
In the first instance, the narcissist is going to be so deeply pleased to watch you suffer under their torture. Look at for that look of utter satisfaction when they see you fall under their manipulation tactics meant to break your spirit.
As for the second reaction, narcissists don’t really want to see you emote when they aren’t in the mood to watch your soul hurt and eyes leak with tears. They especially don’t like it when you are crying because you want them to treat you better. If a narcissist doesn’t want to deal with you, they will try to get you to shut up and definitely try to punish you after the crying episode. How dare you have your own feelings and show them at a time that is not opportune for them?!
Why do narcissists get angry when you cry? They get mad when you don’t neatly follow their rules. You can only cry when they want to watch you cry!
Narcissists always manage to camouflage themselves as awesome people. That’s why unsuspecting people like you and I get roped into being their victims. However, having knowledge on how to deal with a narcissist at various stages of your relationship with them helps a lot.
This book is a collection of things I have learned from dealing with quite a few narcissists in my life. So, when I say I feel for you as a narcissistic abuse victim, I really mean it. I know what it feels like to be frozen in fear for something yet a regular person would be confused at your reaction. There is a lot of conditioning that happens in a narcissistic relationship.
I think one of the biggest reasons why people get sucked into a narcissistic and abusive relationship is because they are not aware of how to protect themselves from these kinds of predators. In an ideal world, we wouldn’t have to tick red flags off of a person.
Final Thoughts
