Studying is some boring stuff. Everyone agrees. However, there are some lesser known tactics to help you enjoy studying. Click to read more about it.
STUDYING
STUDENTS. DYING. STUDYING.
I wonder what the makers of the English language thought while they created this word. Conveniently adding the word “dying” at the end to remind people that it sucks? Awesome move.
Or not. So many people hate studying. Only the 1% of students actually enjoy it. I’m gonna be honest, studying isn’t my biggest hobby, but there are times when I enjoy it. This is a post to impart to you my wisdom on how to enjoy studying even when you hate it.
How to Enjoy Studying even When You Hate it
This is a post on how to enjoy studying even when you hate it. Here are some tips:
Set your intentions for studying straight
This is my most important pearl of wisdom for you. I know it doesn’t exactly tell you how to enjoy studying, but let me explain. Intention matters a lot, when it comes to literally anything in life. Here is an example to help you understand better : I tried for years to get “skinny”. I tried all sorts of diets and workouts. No matter what I did, I never really lost any weight or got any fitter.
My intention for eating clean and working out was for a definite goal. For the day I would finally be skinny and good enough for the awesome clothes that I wanted to wear. Not to mention the most important thing: wanting to impress people.
When I got skinny, I would stop all this torture I was putting myself through. It would all end and I would be happy for the rest of my life.
I had a pretty limited perspective on life, don’t you think?
You can’t workout and eat good food just to lose weight! These are things you are supposed to be doing to maintain your body and your health. Physical activity is important for humans. Not to mention that eating good food boosts your immunity.
When I finally realized that I would have to be doing this every day for the rest of my life, it got easier. I have to eat good food every day. I have to do exercise every day. That’s what proves that I am taking care of my health and fitness.
In this same breath, I need you to find a new “why”. Why am I studying? I know you want to get good grades, but why are you studying right now? Study because you want to study every day. You want to be consistent. You want to make studying a part of your routine every day. Study because this is your job right now.
You need to study in this stage of your life. It’s all you have to do. It’s your purpose. Study every day and get good grades. Because later in life, you will have to choose what career path you want to take. There are some subjects/courses that you were good at, the ones you liked. These are the careers fields that you are going to head into.
I know you’re going to ask, why should I study a subject that I know I hate and would never want to advance in? The study system makes sure that everyone gets a chance to explore all the subjects that a person might end up liking.
What if you decided not to study Biology because you thought it sucked but then you realize you actually really like some parts of it? But it’s too late now, you can’t go back and take it up again. There is some bit of organization to how school works.

Fake it till you make it to enjoy studying
The second tip to help you enjoy studying is to fake it till you make it. This is one of the best ways to change anything in your life. Manifest your ideal self and show up as her/him. Tell yourself that you are now someone who studies every single day and enjoys it. Fake it. Act it.
Studies show that creating changes is easier when you decide you are now a new person. You are now a new person who will study every day and enjoy it. Change your habits to better suit a person who studies and enjoys studying.
Make your study environment appealing
This is also another way to help you enjoy studying. if you work in a messy space, you’re not going to like studying. that’s why I like to organize my desk area before I study. You can go a step ahead and light some candles or diffuse essential oils to make everything smell great.
Your environment affects you a lot more than you realize. Your environment also includes your friends. If you hang out with people who don’t really care about school, they make it easier for you to slack off too. That’s why hanging out with hard working friends is better for your grades.
Make studying more fun
I have a whole post on different study methods that are actually fun. Read it here: How to Have Fun while you Study. This will help you to enjoy studying. staring at a book all day is not very interactive and fun. That’s why it’s important to incorporate some fun activities into your studying.
These can include using online tools and apps like Duolingo and Quizlet. You can also be sure to have fun by using lots of colors and drawing. Place some calming ambient music to set the mood. Make up songs to remember important points. All these are ways to actually enjoy studying even when you hate it.
Enjoy Studying and get good grades
I hope this post will inspire and motivate you to enjoy studying more. Studying is going to be an integral part of your life for a few years at most, depending on what level of education you are at. That means it will serve you better if you suck it up an accept that you need to study every day for a really long time.
