Are your nights boring and lack the spice the rest of your day has?
I know what it feels like when you have your entire daytime routine down but your nights are incredibly empty. That is why I created this new nighttime routine to fill the time I have when the sun goes down and it’s time to sleep.
Here are 9 new activities you can try out to make your night better.
How to Make Your Night Better in 9 Ways
Try out these 9 things you might never have thought of. Add them into your nighttime routine to spice up your life and maybe get a little productive.
1 . Drink a soothing herbal tea blend or a freshly squeezed juice
Some nights call for herbal teas to warm your body and relax your mind. Other nights, you need some freshly squeezed fruit juice, preferably served in a wine glass.
This is a great way to treat your mind and body to some relaxation. It can make your night infinitely better.
2 . Light warm scented candles
Set the mood for the night by dimming the lights and lighting some candles to provide a warm and dim lighting.
As the candles release their soothing scents, your mind will feel more relaxed.
3 . Do some light reading
An awesome way to make your night better is to read a book. There is something about reading a book in dim lighting that calms the body and prepares you for sleep.
A great example would be to read a physical copy of a book that isn’t too interesting.
4 . Watch inspirational TED talks
If you want to give yourself screen time, you can invest that time into TED talks.
If you don’t know what a TED talk is, these are videos you can find on youtube that provide all sorts of knowledge presented by awesome individuals.
It’s a great way to entertain and inform yourself.
5 . Take a soothing shower and moisturize
If the nights are getting a bit too warm, it should be part of your daily routine to take a nightly shower.
A shower is usually what you need to wind down for the night. It makes your body fresh and relaxed, ready for the cool sheets of your bed.
6 . Do some light studying
If your nights are a bit boring, you might want to invest your time in some sort of studies.
It doesn’t have to be anything extreme. You can study a new language on duolingo, or read a self help book. To me, self help is pretty much studying.
A little light studying can make your night better.
7 . Journal about the day
Journaling is one of the most underrated forms of self care.
It helps you to healthily express your feelings. It allows you to let out your true emotions. Some of these feelings are usually buried and never examined. Feelings should be allowed to be felt.
That’s when they can leave. Otherwise, you will be accumulating a whole lot of repressed emotions.
8 . Listen to relaxing ambient music
Music is one of my great joys in life. I love listening to peaceful and ambient music at night.
In fact, listening to music throughout the day puts me in a great mood. Try to play some calming music to help you wind down.
Listening to relaxing ambient music is capable of making your night better.
9 . Take deep breaths and focus on how you feel
Instead of getting you to meditate, I’ve decided to give you an easier option: Focus on getting in tune with your body and how you feel.
Take a few deep breaths and ask yourself some deep questions, for example:
How do I feel right now?
How does my body feel?
What do I want to tell myself?
These are some great activities you can add to your nighttime routine to make your night better. Sometimes you need to go back to the basics and do the simple stuff. Fill your night with these activities and let me know how it goes.
