It’s that time of the school season when you need to study even when you are tired or sleepy.
Why would you need to study even when tired or sleepy?
Good question. Why do you need to study even when you can’t go on… even when you are too tired and sleepy?
Here’s why:
- You are doing last minute revision
- You are motivated and need to study
- You just care a lot about your grades and want to do your best
- You want to show off that you stayed up studying all night
Was I spot on? I hope so. That’s because everyone at some point has stayed up to study even when tired and sleepy.
Here are 10 Ways to stay up and study even when you are tired and sleepy.
10 Ways to Study Even When You are Tired or Sleepy
1 . Take a shower
The number one way to wake you up when you are tired or sleepy is taking a shower.
Taking a shower wakes up your senses and makes you feel refreshed, almost like you are brand new.
Take a shower whenever you are tired or sleepy when you need to study.
2 . Eat good food to study when tired and sleepy
Eating the right kind of food might be just what you need if you are tired or sleepy.
There are times when I felt so dead, but when I ate food, I felt like I’d been a parched plant that got some shower of rain.
Your brain needs food to work. That’s why you get hungry if you study too much.
3 . Drink coffee
If you want to study when you are sleepy, coffee is your way to go.
Coffee has caffeine that lets you stay up.
I’ve used coffee before but I might be allergic to it.
That’s why I stick to regular tea. It seems to do the trick just fine.
4 . Drink an energy drink to study when tired and sleepy
This is a proven tactic to study even when you are tired or sleepy.
An energy drink like redbull is bound to give you that energy you need to stay up late.
I know there’s loads of people that say you shouldn’t drink energy drinks, but hey, you have to do what you must! I’m only telling you the options you have.
5 . Promise yourself a reward
Bribing yourself with a reward is the perfect way to study even when you are tired and sleepy.
The reward can be chocolates, or something like a few minutes of your favorite TV show.
6 . Steep your feet in a bucket of water
I’ve personally never done this, but some of my friends say this works. All you need to do is get a bucket of cold water, and stick your feet in while you study.
Be careful though, because I heard a story where this girl fell asleep and dropped her book into the water.
7 . Take a power nap
A power nap is a short nap that lets you recharge for a short time.
Power naps are essential to studying even when you are tired or sleepy. They ensure that you get a boost of energy.
8 . Study in a different location
Try to study in a location that you never use to study.
In stead of your room, go to the dining, or your sibling’s room.
Make sure you don’t get too cozy otherwise you will fall asleep.
9 . Listen to music
Find some music that doesn’t put you to sleep.
This can be EDM, or trance, or whatever keeps you alert and focused. Explore your music options to see what works best for you.
Listening to the right music can help you study even when you are tired or sleepy.
10 . Watch a movie so you study when tired and sleepy
This is a weird tip, but it gets me through some long nights.
If I let myself have tiny TV breaks in between studying, I realized I could stay up longer to study.
That’s why I let myself watch something that I am really interested in.
Watching a movie can keep you up so you study even when you are tired or sleepy.
Study away, study bug!
These are a few tips and tricks I have accumulated over time to study even when tired or sleepy.
I highly recommend watching a movie or a show to keep you up. It will keep you interested enough to stay up.
