Confidence is important, that’s obvious. In this post, read about why confidence is important and also, how to be more confident in life.
4 Reasons Why Confident is Important
Here are 4 reasons why confidence is important in life.
Make friends easier
Why is confidence important in life?
Confidence helps you to meet people and communicate better. That means you will have more friends, and these friends can be bring so much joy to your life.
The facts are that confident people aren’t awkward. They say hi and they talk like their words have some value and meaning. They don’t shy away and hide in corners. That’s why people like them.
Get better opportunities
Confidence gets you better opportunities. Imagine being confident and introducing yourself to someone who ends up getting you a deal of a lifetime! A job! A sponsorship!
These are things that come from being sure of yourself and therefore being confident. We all have individual talents that we should be proud of. In addition to that, avoid comparing yourself to other people. Just be proud of yourself as you are.
Feel better in general
Why is having confidence so important?
Confident people feel good. They feel good because they know that as long as they keep doing the right things, they will get good results. They are not waiting for a four-leaf clover to make them get a sale.
Confident people don’t have doubts about how that good thing just won’t happen for them. They are detached. Whatever happens, happens.
On the other hand, it seems that people with low confidence think that bad stuff always follows them, and that they deserve that bad stuff. Confident people are less negative.
Everything seems to work out for you
I’m not trying to be one of those people that say, “If you be positive, positive things will come your way.”
Actually, yes, I am. I am trying to be one of those people. I’m just saying – if you are confident, things just fall into place.
And even if they don’t, at least you don’t have to suffer twice. You were confident and didn’t get the thing. That is better than worrying your brains out and not getting the thing.
In life, good things happen, and bad things happen. However, if you act confident, you won’t care when things go wrong. Because you know that you are a human being who deserves good things anyway.
This is how confidence is important. It lets you know that you are worthy and deserving regardless of what life throws at you.
How to be More Confident in Life
Here are 5 things to know in order to be more confident in life.
You are good enough
You don’t need to be awesome to deserve confidence. That’s the thing that people don’t get. You don’t need to do anything special or be someone awesome to justify confidence. You are good enough for confidence the way you are.
I know it can be difficult to think of yourself as having the same level of worth as your favorite celebrity, but that’s the facts, babe. We are all here with the same intrinsic value. Being cool doesn’t magically grant you the rights to be confidence. Confidence is for everyone!
It’s time to stop oppressing yourself
Not being confident is a great way to oppress yourself. How many opportunities are you missing because you are too busy having low self esteem? You know it yourself. There are so many things you could have done if you had just spoken up, or acted confident.
Tell yourself this: I am oppressing my being by not being confident. It’s time to start acting like I deserve the good things in life. I am the same as everyone else on earth.
This will help you to be more confident in life.
Do what must be done
This is something that probably doesn’t make sense to you. Except if you remember that scene in Game of Thrones I think? Some dude tells Jon Snow to “do what needs to be done” or something, then dies. Typical.
Doing what needs to be done means forgetting all the things your brain and other people are telling you. All about what will go wrong and how much you suck. Forget all that, and do that thing that you know is the natural progression of things in your life.
Stop waiting for confidence to be delivered to your door in a special wrapped up package. Just do it.
Be yourself. That’s all anyone wants from you
This is something I learnt after going for a few interviews here and there. Those recruiters just need an average person to do the work in an average manner. I remember doing my best to impress one interviewer with all my skills and I didn’t even get the job.
That’s when I realized: No one wants you to be cool and awesome. They just need you to be you. They actually secretly want you to be average so they can feel cooler than you.
So, just be yourself. Don’t try to impress other people with your awesome-ness. Just be average. That’s all anyone ever wanted.
Work on yourself
Of course, just because I told you that you don’t need any special talents to be confident, doesn’t mean you are now magically confident. In all honesty, working on yourself is a placebo we need to tell ourselves so we can feel worthy of ourselves.
We work out and hustle just to make ourselves feel worthy of good things in life. But like, you were worthy before you were fit and rich. All human beings are.
Here are some ways to work on yourself so you can be more confident:
- Read non-fiction self-help books
- Work out daily
- Practice confidence
- Learn new stuff
- Start a side hustle
- Commit to your hobbies
- Try to get cooler
Confidence is a resource that is available to you
Lately I’ve realized this one thing: You can do anything that is humanly possible. You want to get confident? Yes, you can. You want to learn how to program? Umm, you definitely can. Learn a new skill? Get better at dancing? Move to Hawai’i? Yes to all that.
I think along the way people forget that they can literally do anything. I think you have forgotten that you can be confident. Somewhere along the way you stopped being confident. But now you can.
