Telling yourself that you are not alone can help you feel stronger and calmer and begin to accept reality. I mean, so what if you’re ugly? There are millions of ugly people in this world. So being ugly doesn’t matter because you’ll just mingle in with the crowd among other so-called ugly people.
2. You have nothing to lose
There are benefits to being beautiful and pleasing to look at. But that’s just one trait that people have. It’s something they were born with – they had no choice in it. That makes it quite irrelevant. Think about this: there are people who work hard every day despite their lack of talent and push through with grit every day. These people are the real heroes. The people that work hard. You have nothing to lose by coming to terms with being ugly. Accept your supposed ugliness and move on with your talents and abilities. Work hard and be productive. Appearance is just a small part of the big picture. Knowing this can help you to come to terms with being ugly.
3. You get through anyhow
All these years that you have been alive, haven’t you got by anyway? You’re a decent, civilized human being that can function properly in society. This is one of my favorite sayings. We are all born one and the same. We don’t come with a manual on how to work life. We pick up social cues and morals as we go by. When you walk into room, there’s no one who is a better human than you. On a basic level, we are all just humans, and nothing else. We function the same and have the same organs to carry out the same functions. This is a great mentality to have in order to come to terms with being ugly.
5. You matter
I know everyone is going on about body positivity these days, but I need to say it louder for those that might have missed it. You matter. You matter because you exist. Because you are alive. Putting your self esteem and confidence on characteristics like your talents, abilities, possessions isn’t the way to improve self-worth. Self worth comes from accepting that you don’t need anything to suddenly start feeling good about yourself and your life. Self-worth comes from believing you deserve the best just because.
