When I started making my bed, it felt really good. It felt like I was giving to myself, and I’m someone that’s always putting others above me. When you focus on giving to yourself, you might not notice the direct effect on you, but I assure you it’s swimming in your subconscious. It can really boost self-esteem.
2 – Get the blood flowing
For your anxiety daily routine, get the blood flowing.
There are habits we know are good for us but we don’t really think about incorporating them into our lifestyles. Exercising is one of them. You might not see the effect right away, but working out can reduce anxiety. Get the blood warm and flowing, stretch your whole body, and sweat out the tension and stress in your body.

Eating right sounds simple, but it is very effective in reducing anxiety. Food is a big part of our lives, and it might be a cause for anxiety in your life. Consider if you might have an eating disorder – eating food should not be giving you anxiety.

I can’t stand horror movies with jump-scares in them. I don’t like watching anything that isn’t predictable. I prefer to watch mellow movies that won’t get me worked up. That’s why I love watching romantic comedies. If you are having a hard time with anxiety, I suggest watching something that calms you down – it can even be videos of puppies on youtube.
8 – Less social media
The other day, I was uncharacteristically energetic after work. It was a great feeling! But right after I had that realization, I hopped on Instagram. A few minutes of being on the app, and I started feeling lazy, sluggish, tired, and sleepy. I connected the dots and realized that social media had leeched the life out of me.
Remove social media from your daily routine to reduce anxiety. I’ve been trying this out a lot lately, and I suggest getting some logic-type of games to give your brain some fun work.

It doesn’t have to be tea – you can also nurse a cup of hot coffee. There is something about tea that calms me down. When I started my new job, I had a lot of anxiety. But when I had a cup of tea, the feeling was so comforting and familiar to me, I literally swooned. Tea is awesome – you sip it bit by bit, it’s tasty, and it keeps you company for a lot longer than a regular drink.

Journaling is the holy grail for anxiety. I like to call journaling “self therapy”. Every single time that I journal, I figure something out about myself. This is how I see it: I’m someone who is passionate about mental health, and I’m into cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and positivity. If one of my friends came up to me with a problem they are facing, I would be able to help them. I’m not saying I’m a therapist or anything, but I do know that I have some skill in the topic.
So here’s the thing: What if I just performed that same therapy work on myself? Of course, I am inside my own mind and things get muddled up when it’s like that. But when you write things down, you give yourself a fresh perspective to dissect your thoughts and come up with a solution to your problem or a way to make yourself feel better.
